Kal's Korner
Week of January 27- February 2, 2019

The Word: Romans 8
Romans 8:15-18, “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” ESV
Here’s the same verses in The Message version of the Bible…
Romans 8:15-17, “This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!” Message Version
Hold on to this promise as you “Weather the Storms of Life”

Loss in life is unavoidable - but grief is a choice

There is no loss without pain
But grief is a choice.
Psalm 23:4, “ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” ESV
